Herb & Tou’s (Intellectual Thuggery) is an American podcast covering various topics such as music, entertainment, and pop culture, but centered on a uniquely Black masculine philosophy. Herb Howard, along with his co-host Toussaint Werner engage in discussions, debates, and interviews with guests from the world of music, politics, business industries and beyond. The podcast gained a significant following for its candid and often opinionated conversations.

 

Uniquely anchored in a perspective rarely heard in such candor, Herb and Tou met while being engaged in activism on the streets of Chicago. Desiring to amplify their message, their introduction to the world of media came via the terrestrial airwaves of Chicago's most historic Black-owned radio station WVON. Realizing the need for greater freedoms than terrestrial radio could offer, Herb and Tou sought the digital sphere to challenge social and political norms. 

 

Herb Howard and Toussaint Werner discuss the most relevant topics impacting Black People from an unapologetically Black male perspective. We like to call it “Intellectually Thuggery” because while these brothers are cerebral in their thought process, they also recognize that White Supremacy relies on brute force, hence their most celebrated quote, “But can you whoop my ass though?”
